5 Things: Danielle Steel Researcher, Ground-Breaking Ceremony and More
The events and issues to keep in mind today.
- The hosts Nancy Eisenbarth, long-time research assistant to Danielle Steel and a Fanwood resident. Eisenbarth will discuss what it takes to conduct research for a potential (and given Steel's track record, often probable) best-seller. The program is free, but reservations are required due to limited seating. Call 908-322-6400 to reserve a seat. The event starts at 7 p.m., and will be preceded by the Friends of the Fanwood Memorial Library's annual meeting.
- Fanwood hosts a groundbreaking ceremony for the new retail and residential property planned for the corner of Martine Avenue and South Avenue. The event starts at 10 a.m.
- Comedian Howie Mandel performs at the Union County Performing Arts Center in Rahway.
- The Board of Trustees meets at 7:30 p.m.
- The Fanwood Environmental Commission meets at 7:30 p.m. on the second floor of the Fanwood Community House. [Update, 9:15 a.m. May 19: This meeting has been cancelled, according to a press release distributed by the commission.]
