5 Things: Group Walks, New Locomotive, Cover Bands and More

- Club West Nutrition of Fanwood invites residents to take part in free "Group Walks," taking place every Wednesday at 1 p.m. and every Saturday at 11 a.m. All walkers will meet at Club West for a health breakfast or lunch, followed by the walk. To register, call 908-322-2100, or .
- If you work in the area around Newark Penn Station, consider taking an early lunch break to stroll over to Track A. New Jersey Transit will be unveiling its new dual-powered locomotive stating at about 11:15 a.m. The locomotive, built by Bombardier and the first of its kind in North America, can operate on both electrified and non-electrified track, according to a press release distributed by NJ Transit. The agency is ordering 26 of the locomotives to replace its aging diesel fleet.
- The Scotch Plains Management Corporation, the administrative body of the township's downtown district, meets at 6:30 p.m. in the second floor conference room of the Municipal Building.
