5 Things: Half-Days, Back-to-School Nights at Park and Terrill Middle Schools
The events and issues to keep in mind today.
- and middle schools have single-session days today, according to the Scotch Plains-Fanwood School District website. The schools will each hold Back to School Night, which starts at 7 p.m. Each school's PTA will hold a general membership meeting at 6:45 p.m.
- Today is the final day to register for Fanwood's science exploration workshops. .
- John Mellencamp fans are invited to a tribute show at 7:30 p.m. at the Raymond Wood Bauer Promenade in Linden. In the event of rain, the show will be held at Linden High School. .

- "Tuesday Mornings" discussion group continues today at 10:30 a.m. This trimester, being held from September through November, is called "Joining the Tribe: A History of Conversion and Intermarriage in Judaism Over the Last 3,000 Years," according to the Patch events page. .
