5 Things: Temple Open Houses, Carnivals, Blood Drives

The events and issues to keep in mind this weekend.

  1. Watch the movie "Cars," then check out some real-life classics at Union County's "Family Fun and Flix" in Echo Lake Park in Mountainside on Friday. G-Wiz Auto, Entertainment, and Garden State Chevelles host a classic car show at 7:30 p.m., then screen the movie at dusk.  
  2. The Scotch Plains Donor Center of New Jersey Blood Services, located at 2279 South Avenue in Scotch Plains, hosts blood drives Friday, from 2 to 8:30 p.m., and Saturday, from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  3. , a Reform Jewish synagogue in Westfield, hosts an open house on Friday at 7 p.m.
  4. The Kenilworth Fire Department's summer carnival comes to a close Saturday.
  5. Temple Sholom, a Reform Jewish congregation on Martine Avenue in Fanwood, hosts an open house at 7 p.m. .
