5 Things: 'Toy Story 3,' SPFYBA Registration, 'Jazz Jam,' and More
The events and issues to keep in mind today.
- "Free Movie Night" continues in at 8 p.m. with a screening of "Toy Story 3." Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets and bug spray. In the event of rain, the movie will be screened Wednesday.
- The Scotch Plains Township Council consolidates its monthly conference and business meetings into a single night tonight. The conference meeting begins at 7 p.m.; the business meeting begins at 8:30 p.m., according to the township's website.
- Registration for the 2011 fall season of the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Youth Baseball in-town league is open through Aug. 26. Children who were in grades two through five during the 2010-2011 school year may register.
- Cool your heels at a weekly "Jazz Jam," hosted by The Crossroads on North Avenue in Garwood. Local acts take the stage at 9 p.m., and admission is free.
- The Scotch Plains 9/11 Memorial Foundation is accepting donations for the township's new memorial, which incorporates steel from the World Trade Center. To learn more and to donate, click here.
