5 Things, Weekend Edition

The events and issues to keep in mind this weekend.

Video game enthusiasts are invited to the Amateur Computer Group of New Jersey's LAN computer-gaming night on Friday at 8 p.m. at the Scotch Plains Rescue Squad.

The S.T.A.R.S. Theatre's free performances of "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown," continue on the Alan M. Augustine Village Green at 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday. .

The Scotch Plains Public Library invites residents to "treat your tastebuds to a culinary adventure courtesy of King's Supermarkets" on Saturday, according to the library's website. Produce buyers from the supermarket chain will "share their knowledge and samples of some of the most exotic fruits available in New Jersey." The program starts at 1 p.m.

The library also kicks off the first week of its Summer Film Week with a screening of the Oscar-winning movie, "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon." The program starts at 11 a.m. Saturday.
