Fanwood Celebrates "National Poetry Month"
Fanwood's will host poet John Amen and author Gail Fishman Gerwin on Tuesday, April 19 at 8 p.m. as part of its continuing Poetry Reading Series. Amen is the author of three collections of poetry. Gerwin is a writer from Morristown. Click here for online directions and further information.
On Thursday, the hosts Maria Mazziotti Gillan. She will offer a lecture titled, "Patersion Poets: Voices of the Silk City," which will include discussions on William Carlos Williams and Alan Ginsberg. The program starts at 7 p.m.
Sanguiliano Garden Center Hosts Easter Egg Hunt Saturday
If you missed Fanwood's annual Easter Egg Hunt last weekend, don't fret. The , located at 2600 Route 22 East in Scotch Plains, is hosting a free Easter Egg Hunt for children 8 years old and younger from 12 to 2 p.m. The hunt for 4-year-olds and younger starts at 12:30 p.m., and 5-to-8-year-olds can start looking at 12:45 p.m. The event will also include arts and crafts. Art Auction for SPF Education Enrichment Foundation
The Education Enrichment Founation (EEF) of Scotch Plains-Fanwood will hold an art auction benefit on Friday, May 6, from 7 to 10 p.m. at L'Affaire on Route 22. Art from students and others will be on display for bidding through a professional auctioneer. Tickets cost $25 each if purchased prior to April 22 and $30 each after that date. St. Bart's Academy Hosts Comedy Night
in Scotch Plains will host "A Night of Comedy" on Saturday, May 7. Doors open at 6:45 p.m., social hour will start at 7 p.m. and the show will start at 8 p.m. Scheduled to appear are three professional comedians: Ted Daniels, Doug Karpf and Matt Jenkins. Sizing-Up Social Security
Family Investors Company of Fanwood will host a representative from the Social Security Administration on Wednesday, May 18, at 2 p.m. in Fanwood. The presentation will focus on when and how to file for Social Security benefits. It is specifically geared toward people who are not currently on Social Security. Light refreshments will be served.
