Brief: Martine Avenue Closes for Roadwork

The road-resurfacing project started Friday morning. It will resume Monday, Union County says.

It's here: the Union County roadwork project to resurface a 1.5-mile stretch of Martine Avenue commenced Friday morning, shutting-down the thoroughfare from Raritan Road to Cooper Road. Workers milled the asphalt, preparing it for fresh coats of pavement next week.

Martine Avenue will reopen by about 5 p.m. Friday, workers said. But, barring inclement weather, the project will resume Monday morning, closing the road from Raritan Road to King Street, the Union County Traffic Department said.
