Business is Sprouting at Farmer's Market

Scotch Plains Farmer's Market had its grand opening party on Saturday.

Saturday morning was the perfect summer day for an outing to the Scotch Plains Farmer's Market.

Although it officially opened last Saturday, the market had its "grand opening party" this weekend. About twice as many New Jersey vendors set up tables this week compared to last. There was also a Fun Bus for kids' entertainment.

Area residents stocked up on fresh fruits and veggies from Ort Farms of Long Valley, Corner-Copia of East Windsor, and Asprocolas Acres of Millstone Township. Peaches, blueberries, potatoes and corn were just a few of the items featured on the produce tables.

In addition, pickles, pretzels and an array of baked goods were also for sale from local vendors.
