Five Things: Mothers Connection, Holiday Boutique and Two Book Clubs

The events and issues to keep in mind today.

  1. Non-Jewish mothers who are members of Jewish families are invited to attend the latest meeting of "Mothers Circle," a free program that is taking place at the  this morning at 9:30 a.m. According to a press release distributed by the JCC:

    "The Mothers Circle program is a dynamic educational course that brings together non-Jewish mothers and empowers them to create Jewish homes.  Presented in a warm, relaxed social setting, the interactive curriculum explores Jewish holidays, practices, rituals and ethics, while providing resources and tools for enriching family life at home."

    Led by Julie Bernstein, Early Education Director at Temple Beth Ahm and a religious school educator, Mothers Circle is an ongoing program. Participants do not have to be affiliated with a Jewish institution or have any prior knowledge to take part.     Free childcare is available upon request for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old.

  3. The  Adult Book Club hosts the next installment of its monthly book discussion. Tonight at 7:30 p.m., it will discuss "A Reliable Wife" by Robert Goolrick.
  4. The  Afternoon Book Club meets at 1 p.m. this afternoon to discuss "The Elegance of the Hedgehog" by Muriel Barbery.
  5. And finally, Burnery Group Real Estate Professionals holds an open house from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today. Consumers can drop-by to obtain a free credit report, ask about local sales or listings or learn more about the firm. Refreshments will be served.
