Five Things: St. Patrick's Celebration, Lecture Series, Symphony Orchestra and More

The events and issues to keep in mind today.

  1. in Fanwood hosts a St. Patrick's Day celebration with bag pipers, green beer and more from 4 to 6 p.m.
  2. The Scotch Plains-Fanwood Board of Education holds its open agenda meeting tonight at 8 p.m. 
  3. The second annual lecture series continues tonight at 7:30 with a lecture by Rabbi Dr. Allan Nadler, professor of religion and the director of the Jewish Studies program at Drew University, according to the event listing on Patch. Nadler will discuss, "Jews Don't Burn Books, or Do They?" Tickets cost $15 for general admission, and $13 for students and seniors ages 65 and older. For more information, call 908-889-8800. 
  4. The 2011 adult book sale starts today and continues through Saturday. Remaining children's books will also be on sale.
