Five Things: Storytime, Baseball Sign-Ups, and Much More

The events to keep in mind today.

  1. Nursery Rhyme Time continues at the Fanwood Library. Children 18-35 months are invited to enjoy nursery rhymes, songs, and fun. Sessions are at 10:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. and are approximately twenty minutes long.
  2. The Fanwood Planning Board is holding their monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. The Board will be meeting with a redeveloper who will give a presentation on potential renovation of the downtown area.
  3. Spring is just around the corner, which marks the return of America's favorite pastime. The Scotch Plains Fanwood Youth Baseball Association has extended their deadline to register for the Spring 2011 season. Visit www.spfyba.org to sign up your little slugger today.
  4. The YMCA of Union is hosting "Remembering the Holocaust through Art, Music, and Film." The event is taking place at 7:30 p.m. at 501 Green Lane in Union. Dr. Matthew Halpern will be the presenter, and will speak of the prominent composers of Terezin. Admission is $15, $10 for Y members.
  5. For teens looking to, "meet, talk with, gripe with, and swap ideas with" fellow high schoolers, The Immaculate Heart of Mary Church is holding their weekly Youth Group meeting from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The night promises games, volunteer opportunities, and refreshments.
