The events and issues to keep in mind today.

  1. Hey, parents of young children! If you're looking for an event Friday, check out Summit's 33rd annual "Tot Trot," a day of games and family-friendly activities to benefit the Bryan's Dreams Foundation. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Memorial Field, 100 Ashland Avenue, and registration is required. .
  2. The Fanwood Presbyterian Church holds its monthly Needle Nite on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Westminster Hall, located on Marian Avenue, according to the event listing on Patch. .
  3. Interested in learning more about social media and, specifically, Twitter? Check out the Amateur Computer Group of New Jersey's presentation on Twitter on Friday at 8 p.m. at the Scotch Plains Rescue Squad. .
  4. Greekfest 2011 kicks off in at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Westfield. This weekend-long event will feature Greek food, art, entertainment and more. 
  5. The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, located in Madison, stages performances of "The Misanthrope." .
  6. Clean out your closets at the the Park Middle School PTA's clothing drive on Saturday, taking place from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. .
  7. Legendary comedian Bill Cosby performs at the Mayo Center for the Performing Arts in Morristown on Saturday night. .
  8. Get a cardio-workout for a good cause on Saturday at the American Heart Association's "Heart Walk" at Nomahegan Park. The event starts with envelope drop-off at 8:30 a.m., and the walk at 10 a.m. .
  9. Local residents are selling lemonade on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 401 Ridgeview Avenue in Scotch Plains to benefit Alex's Lemonade Stand. .
  10. Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange hosts an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Games and family-friendly activities are planned. .
  11. The Fanwood Recreation Department holds its third annual "Training Wheel Toss" for new bicycle riders on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the in Scotch Plains. The program is open to the first 60 children and registration is required. .
