Five Things: Women's Networking Group, Wine Tasting and More

The events to keep in mind today.

  1. "Believe, Inspire, Grow," a business support, education and networking group for women, meets from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at in Fanwood.   2. The Fanwood-Scotch Plains Rotary Club hosts its annual “January Blahs Wine Sampler – a Tasting of Warmth,” tonight at 7. The event will take place in the dining room of the  in Scotch Plains. Wine expert Tom Jackson will be on hand to discuss the wines and selected bottles will be on sale.This will be a prix-fixe dinner for $65 per person, with courses selected to accompany wines of a popular region still to be determined. For reservations, call the Stage House Restaurant at 908-322-4224. A portion of the proceeds, as with all Rotary events, will support causes including scholarships for local graduates, as well as Rotary International programs such as clean-water-for-the-world.   3. Fanwood's Downtown Redevelopment Agency meets at 7:30 p.m. at . Wine-tasting during this event is discouraged.
  4. The Scotch Plains Township Council holds a special public meeting at 6 p.m. to interview candidates for the position of Labor Relations Attorney. The Scotch Plains Management Corporation also meets at 7 p.m. in the second floor conference room of the Municipal Building.
  5. The First United Methodist Church of Westfield hosts the final installment of its "Putting the Pieces Together" workshop series. Titled "Guilt, Shame and Grace," the meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. Click here to learn more.
