Flood Watch in Effect

The heavy rain is expected to continue through Tuesday.

Be prepared: all this rain may lead to more flooding in our area over the next few days.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for Union County through 10 a.m. Monday. Approximately one to two inches of rain has fallen so far, and it's expected to keep coming down heavily throughout the afternoon. The rain will continue through Tuesday. By Wednesday morning, the weather service says we may have received between three and six inches of rain.

As of 7:30 a.m., the state Department of Transportation Web site reported flooding issues on the New Jersey Turnpike, Route 22 W in Union, and other area roadways. Go here for a full report.
