Flu Clinic Schedule for Fanwood Residents

The Westfield Regional Health Department offers inoculations through November.

The Westfield Regional Health Department has scheduled the following dates for seasonal Flu Inoculation Programs, according to a message distributed via Union County First Alert.

The programs are open only to residents of Fanwood, Garwood, Mountainside, New Providence, Roselle Park, Springfield, Summit and Westfield. Proof of residency may be required. Participants will be taken on a first come/first serve basis.

  • Monday, September 19, 2011 Westfield Municipal Building (Court Room) 425 East Broad Street, Westfield, NJ (6:00 PM – 7:30 PM)
  • Monday, September 26, 2011 Mountainside Municipal Building (Court Room) 1385 Rt. #22 East, Mountainside, NJ (6:00 PM – 7:30 PM)
  • Thursday, September 29, 2011 Springfield Municipal Building (Court Room) 100 Mountain Ave., Springfield, NJ (6:00 PM – 7:30 PM)
  • Tuesday, October 4, 2011 New Providence – Senior Citizens Center 15 E. 4th Street, New Providence, NJ (10:00 AM – 12 NOON)
  • Wednesday, October 5, 2011 Sarah Bailey 30 Church Mall Street, Springfield, NJ (11:00AM- 12 NOON)
  • Thursday, October 6, 2011 Fanwood Recreation Center Forest Road, Fanwood, NJ (6:00 PM – 7:30 PM)

  • Friday, October 14, 2011 Summit – Senior Housing Center 12 Chestnut Avenue, Summit, NJ (10:00AM – 11:30AM)
  • Wednesday, October 19, 2011 Garwood Fire House 415 South Avenue, Garwood, NJ (6:00 PM – 7:30 PM)
  • Saturday, November 19, 2011 Roselle Park High School(Cafeteria) 185 W. Webster Ave., Roselle Park, NJ (9:00 AM – 11:00 AM)

Anyone who is Medicare Part B eligible must bring his or her card to the program. The Center for Disease Control now recommends that all individuals 6 months and older receive seasonal influenza vaccine (i.e., the flu shot) especially:

  • Persons aged 65 years and older, with and without chronic health conditions
  • Residents of long-term care facilities
  • Persons aged 2–64 years with chronic health conditions
  • Children aged 6 months or older, who attend any licensed child care center or pre-school activity
  • Pregnant women
  • Health-care personnel who provide direct patient care 
  • Household contacts and out-of-home caregivers for children younger than 6 months.
