The Scotch Plains-Fanwood Youth Baseball Association held its season-opening ceremonies at Booth Field in Scotch Plains on Saturday morning. The teams' athletes and and coaches took part in a short parade onto the field, then heard speeches from association president Neil Kaufman and a local deacon. Scotch Plains Mayor Nancy Malool was also in attendance. Achievement awards were presented to three local athletes: Chris Ciccarino, Joseph Bonaccorso and Connor McSherry.
