Health Department Out of Seasonal Flu Vaccine

The department is focusing on H1N1 now.

Scotch Plains Health Officer Rick Proctor announced today that the health department is out of seasonal flu vaccine. Proctor said in a public statement that manufacturers are not accepting new orders and thus the department does not anticipate having any seasonal flu vaccine in the near future.

The health department is currently working to plan future H1N1 flu vaccine clinics. The department hosted several over the past weekend, including one in Scotch Plains on Sunday. No more clinics for Scotch Plains are scheduled for this week.

The Westfield Regional Health Department, which oversees Fanwood, is hosting two clinics: one Tuesday night from 5 to 8 p.m. at Westfield High, and another on Nov. 16 at Summit High.
