The National Weather Service reports that widespread showers and scattered thunderstorms will move throughout the area on Tuesday.
There's a 100 percent chance of heavy rainfall in Union County, the service says, with the possibility of as much as one to two inches of rain an hour. Urban and flash flooding could occur.
The threat is expected to move away from the area on Wednesday, but the weather services say it could return by the weekend.
