Looking for Deals? This is Your Weekend

If you pride yourself on getting the most bang for your buck, then no time is better to do so than this weekend.

After a successful spring event, The Scotch Plains Junior Women's Club decided to host a fall version of its popular town-wide garage sale. Appoximately 60 homes in the Scotch Plains-Fanwood area are registered to participate this Saturday, and the variety of items to be sold seems good.

Lamps, shoes, cribs, typewriters, a hospital bed, and even a car are among the items currently listed for sale. To view a map of all of the registered sales, and a preview of what they'll have, go here. Maps will also be available for free starting today at the following locations:  Fanwood Quick Check on North Avenue, Fanwood Bagels and Deli, and Quick Check on Westfield Avenue in Scotch Plains.  Maps will also be available early Saturday morning at the locations listed above.

Unfortunately, the weather forecast doesn't look hopeful right now for the outdoor event. The National Weather Service is calling for a 70 percent chance of rain on Saturday, mainly before noon. The garage sale does have a rain date of Sunday, Sept. 13, but the women's club leaves it up to the residents to decide whether to participate.
