Residents Gather to Remember Veterans

The annual ceremonies were held in downtown Scotch Plains and at the library in Fanwood.

Members of the community came together in downtown Scotch Plains this morning to honor the men and women who've given their lives to serving our country.

American Legion Post 209 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10122 sponsored the annual Veterans Day ceremony, which was held at the Veterans Monument located at the intersection of Park Avenue and Front Street.

After an invocation by Father John Nielson of All Saints Episcopal Church and speeches by members of the Legion and Mayor Nancy Malool, three veterans laid wreaths in memory of those who have past and in honor of those who currently serve.
