Santa's Early Visit to Fanwood Coming Up Soon

Santa and his elves will deliver gifts to children throughout the borough.

Fanwoodians who want an early visit from Santa will have that chance soon.

Santa Claus and his elves will be making their annual trip around town on Saturday, Dec. 12. Escorted by the Fanwood Emergency Services groups, he'll begin his journey at 11 a.m.

Those interested in having Santa bring a gift to their house should deliver it to the Fanwood Police Headquarters on Martine Avenue before Sunday, December 6. Late gifts will not be accepted.

According to the borough, Santa asks that no gifts be larger than 12" x 12" due to space limitation on his sleigh. Each gift must be wrapped tightly and securely, and clearly labeled with the child's first and last name, address, and telephone number. All packages for the same address should be bundled together. It is extremely important that the labels are securely attached to the packages.

The annual Santa visit is a joint effort of the Fanwood Volunteer Fire Department, Fanwood Rescue Squad and the Fanwood Police Benevolent Association Local 123. Volunteers gather the gifts, organize them into routes, and then help Santa load them up onto the fire engines and ambulances. Listen for the sirens on that Saturday!
