Residents of Scotch Plains experienced power outages last night, due to overhead wire failure.
The outage was likely caused by a downed tree resulting from yesterday’s severe storms. Sections of East 2nd Street and surrounding blocks between Park Avenue and Terrill Road lost power just before 5 p.m.
About 10,000 PSE&G customers statewide lost power yesterday, according a PSE&G press release.
Restoration time for the area was estimated for 9:58 p.m. on the PSE&G hotline. However, power was restored to some residents by 7:00 p.m.
PSE&G representatives were unable to provide any more information on Scotch Plains outages as of last night.
