SP Summer Concert Still on For Now

The event will be canceled in the event of rain.

The Scotch Plains Cultural Arts Committee's summer concert in downtown Scotch Plains is still on for Thursday night, despite a 60 percent chance of rain.

The National Weather Service is predicting right now that heavy rain and thunderstorms will hit Union County before 11 p.m. The weather service says some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain.

Committee Chairman Steve Goldberg says the concert will be canceled if rain does in fact hit the area, but for now the concert is still scheduled as planned.
