Tree Trimming Begins on Route 22 Project

Stage one of construction is slated to begin Jan. 22.

The Route 22 overpass project is officially underway, with workers currently conducting the first step - tree trimming in the area.

Workers could be seen on Tuesday morning cutting tree limbs down in the area by the Park Avenue entrance onto to overpass. Work was also taking place at the intersection of Park Avenue and Bonnie Burn Road.

No apparent lane closures have taken place just yet, but the state Department of Transportation did warn last week that such closures will happen soon.
