Week in Review: The Top Stories in SPF

Here are the top stories on Scotch Plains-Fanwood Patch last week.

Following the June 5 Primary Election, the Scotch Plains Republican Committee selected former  Monday night. Marks served as the Mayor of Scotch Plains for eight years before running unsuccesfully for Senate, and then Congress. The decision has continued to stir controversy among local readers. Jonathan Fischetti, 44, of North Plainfield, was charged with driving while intoxicated and possession of drug paraphernalia on June 8, after Police say he No bystanders were injured. Patch retrieved to photos of the incident from a witness at the scene. Scotch Plains Police also uncovered a needle on Samantha Petrullo, 34, who was a passenger in Fischetti's vehicle. The Board of Education took time this week to . All PTA presidents were honored for their dedicated service while Carmen Lilly, a guidance counselor at the  was honored for her development of the Minority Achievement program. SPFHS Senior, Remy Marshall spoke about how the program helped her find the right college. Several SPF Principals also attended the BOE meeting to pay tribute to the dedicated PTA presidents.
