According to residents, PSE&G some accounts are now saying Nov. 3 - Nov. 9.

Updated 12 p.m. to include residents accounts stating a timeline of Nov. 3 - Nov. 9

According to PSE&G, power will be restored by Nov. 5, residents are now reporting that when they log into their accounts PSE&G states Nov. 3, 5, or 9.

On the PSE&G Twitter page, the company is informing residents they cannot give an exact time for each town.

In an article on the PSE&G website, they quote, "this is not an average storm."

They note in usual circumstances they can be more specific with when power will be restored, but the damge of Hurricane Sandy were unprecedented.

Even PSE&G locations were flooded and damaged adding to the difficulties.

By reporting outages, you can sign up for a phone call with an estimated time of restoration, report the outage by calling 8004367734 or online at http://www.pseg.com/myaccount.

Here is the article provided by PSE&G, "Why is everyone being told power won't be back until November 5th?

PSE&G Outages Map are stll reporting 5,001-10,000 without power in Scotch Plains and 2,001-5,000 without power in Fanwood.

Additionally, Patch will be updating this article with more information as it comes to us. You can also upload your photos and stories here.

Keeping warm is a big concern. It is supposed to be 30 degrees Sat night and with gas in scarce supply, even those with generators will be out of luck. We were freezing last night even with flannel sheets, pjs and 3 blankets! Also heard people are siphoning gas from cars and trying to steal generators, so chain them up.

How are we supposed to vote on Tuesday? Is there any advisories regarding voting?
Nicole Bitette (Editor) November 01, 2012 at 04:52 PM
Hi Yssa, want to reach out about voting but very hard to get in contact right now and they are not really interested in answering questions about voting, especially after Gov. Christine flipped out about it in his press conference. At some point I'll find out more information on voting and will let everyone know.

How can PSEG live with itself? November 9 is our new estimate. It is freezing and it is only getting colder. Where is all the preparation they should have done? The emergency out-of-state crews that should have been on the ground last Tuesday instead of rolling in 6 days after the storm. they want us to "be patient". How about their being responsive, responsible, competent? Pretend you are a business and not a utility. Where is the US gov? FEMA? Thx for the visit Obama! and nothing!!! And I can't even discuss the police, giving out tickets instead of directing traffic, going door to door to check on residents and provide aid. Disgusted!
