Scotch Plains-Fanwood 2013 Election Guide

Both towns have contested elections for council and the Board of Education.

Ready for Tuesday's election?

In Scotch Plains, two candidates will battle for one council seat. In Fanwood, three candidates are up for two council seats. Both towns have contested elections for three seats on the SPF Board of Education. 

Scotch Plains Council Candidates

-Incumbent Lou Beckerman (Democrat)
-Candidate Llewellyn Jones (Republican)

Fanwood Council Candidates

-Incumbent Kathy Mitchell (Democrat)
-Candidate Tom Kranz (Democrat)
-Candidate Jean Michelle Moore (Republican)


Board of Education
Both towns also have contested races for three seats (with a three-year term) on the SPF Board of Education this year. In Scotch Plains, five candidates are on the ballot for two seats: Charlotte Ann Schirmer, David Gorbunoff (incumbent), Evan Murray, Nancy Norris-Bauer (incumbent) and John T. Scanlon. In Fanwood, the candidates for one seat are Amy Winkler (incumbent) and Robert Stovall. Last week, the SPF PTA council held a candidates forum. Check it out here.
