Join us for a reading celebration as we kick off our newest program, 1000 Books Before Kindergarten! First, our staff will share some of their favorite stories, then attendees will have the opportunity to sign up for the library's 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program.
1000 Books Before Kindergarten is a multi-year, pre-literacy program designed to foster a love of books and reading in children and increase awareness of the importance of reading to very young children. Any Scotch Plains or Fanwood resident under the age of 5 is eligible to participate. Working at his or her own pace, the child has until he or she begins Kindergarten to reach the goal of reading 1000 books. Complete details about he program can be found on the library's website.
