Congregation Beth Israel and The Emmanuel Cancer Foundation are collaborating to host their fifth annual fundraiser, a Fashion and Talent Show, on Sunday, January 13, at 1:00 p.m. at the synagogue. Proceeds from the event will benefit The Emmanuel Cancer Foundation – a non-profit organization that provides emotional and material support to New Jersey’s children with cancer and their families – and Congregation Beth Israel, both in Scotch Plains.
Lord & Taylor of Westfield will provide men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, modeled by volunteers from Congregation Beth Israel and The Emmanuel Cancer Foundation. In addition, performers of all ages from the synagogue, ECF and the community will volunteer their time to showcase their talents at the event.
“We’re really excited to be able to team up with The Emmanuel Cancer Foundation again this year,” said Davida Berkowitz, Executive Director of Congregation Beth Israel. “We’ve held fashion shows and talent shows with them in the past, but this is the first time we are holding a fashion and talent show all in one. The participants as well as the spectators have a great time at these events,” she said.
The Talent and Fashion Show is open to the community. The first 100 pre-registered, pre-paid guests will receive gift bags. A raffle will be held with prizes for all ages, and light refreshments will be served at the event.
To register, call the synagogue office at (908) 889-1830. Tickets cost $18 for adults and $10 for children under 12. Congregation Beth Israel is located at 18 Shalom Way, Scotch Plains, New Jersey (corner of Martine Avenue).
