Fanwood-Scotch Plains Rotary Honors Service League

The Fanwood Scotch Plains Rotary Club honors an individual or organization each year to acknowledge volunteerism in our communities.  In 2014 we are proud to honor the Fanwood Scotch Plains Service League for their operation of the Thrift Shop and the contributions they make to our community in the form of Scholarships and grants to various organizations.

The Service League was incorporated in July 1973 and opened the door of the Thrift Shop forty years ago in October 1974.  As of 2013, the league has raised and donated over $1 million dollars since its humble beginnings, to organizations in Fanwood, Scotch Plains and other communities in Union County with an emphasis on helping woman and youth.  In 2013 alone the organization donated at least $35,000.

They will honored at the Rotary Club's lunch meeting on Wednesday, June 11th at the Stage House Restaurant.    The cost for lunch is $15 per person.
