Meet One of the Original Monuments Men at Temple Sholom

At Temple Sholom on Dec. 15, spend an evening
with Harry Ettlinger of the Monuments, Fine Arts and Archives program, also
known as the Monuments Men, a team of men and women whose mission during World
War II and its aftermath was to reclaim artwork the Nazis had looted. Together
they painstakingly recovered stolen masterpieces from mines, castles and other
hidden locations, identified the rightful owners and returned them. The work of
the Monuments Men will be celebrated in an upcoming movie directed by George
Clooney.

At Temple Sholom that evening, hear Ettlinger's
first-hand account of this work, including his experience pulling a Rembrandt
out of a salt mine.

The free program begins at 7 p.m. Temple Sholom is located in the Fanwood Presbyterian
Church at the corner of Martine and LaGrande Avenues in Fanwood, NJ. Meet in
Westminster Hall around the corner, off Marian Avenue. Please enter
