Willow Grove Church Welcome Worship & Weenie Roast BBQ on September 8

Come to Willow Grove Presbyterian Church for the 10:00 am worship service on Sunday, September 8 for a special treat.  Hear inspiring music and a meaningful sermon to encourage you through the week. After worship, enjoy lunch on the lawn.  Lunch will be the quintessential summer picnic:  weenie roast, buttered corn, baked beans, complemented by other delicious sides and desserts. It is a great chance to meet new people and the perfect environment for kids!

Activities during worship are offered for all ages of children.  For young children under age 3, parents may keep them in the worship service, or if they wish, those children can stay in the well-equipped nursery The Children's Ark.  Parents can be reached with pagers if needed. Willow Grove Church’s approach to Christian education blends all the ways in which children learn: hearing, seeing, touching, moving, and creating.  Every Sunday, after Pastor Cynthia’s Message for Young Disciples, young people leave to participate in classes for their age group.  Classes for children from age 4 through grade 1 lead children to the discover the meaning of Christian faith using multi-media resources such as computers, music, science, puppets, drama, arts & crafts, food, puzzles, games and videos.  In the class for children from grade 2 to grade 5, the Live B.I.G. teaches children to find their way around the Bible and begin to see how the stories guide them in their lives. For youth in grades 6 to 12, classes include lively discussion about contemporary issues of living the Christian faith.

The Youth Group meets every other Sunday night at the church from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm for games, discussion, service projects, trips and recreation.  Each summer the youth group travels for hands-on mission trip.

After worship each Sunday, a variety of activities take place for the whole family.  Several times throughout the year, we offer a luncheon such as the weenie roast and barbecue on September 8.  Also offered several Sundays each month are adult forums on a variety of issues.

On the fourth Sunday of each month, our worship is more contemporary in flavor, including multi-media, guitar, keyboard, vocals, and drums.  Large print bulletins are available every Sunday.
