2011 Spring Jewish Film Festival - JCC Central NJ

The JCC of Central NJ is hosting Spring 2011 Jewish Film Festival.  This first movie in this series of three is The Matchmaker and will take place on Thursday, March 31, 2011, beginning at 7:30pm.  This movie will be shown at the AMC Loews Mountainside 10 Theatre, 1021 Route 22 East, Mountainside, NJ.  This film is 112 minutes in length, directed by Avi Nesher and is in Hebrew w/ English subtitles Country: Israel.
Arik, a teenage boy growing up in Haifa in 1968, gets a job working for Yankele Bride, a matchmaker who promises to get you what you need, not necessarily what you want. Yankele, a mysterious childhood friend of Arik’s father, has an office in back of a movie theater run by a family of seven Romanian dwarves that shows only love stories. The lessons Arik learns in matters of the heart are tested when his best friend’s cousin visits from America full of talk of free love and rock and roll. Avi Nesher’s latest film is a coming-of-age story unlike any you’ve ever seen before. Nominated for seven Israeli Academy Awards including Best Picture.  Ticket pricing in advance is $12 JCC Members/Seniors 65+/Students, $14 General Public $ 6 12 years and under.
