Volunteers Needed on Saturday, January 29
As you may or may not know, The C.H.I.L.D. Organization of SPF, (Children Having Individual Learning Differences), is a non-profit, educational help and resource group, separate from the school system. C.H.I.L.D. plans/provides monthly parent/teacher workshops and provides student activities, such as the end of the year Recognition and Awards Night for students receiving any form of Special Services at no charge.
C.H.I.L.D. is able to provide these events at no charge as we earn revenue from other activities such as helping out at the Fanwood Recycling Center.
This Saturday, 1/29, volunteers are needed to help at the Fanwood Recycling Center for a couple hours in the morning. This event provides Community Service Recognition letters for High School Student Volunteers for their Student High School Portfolios, or any other HS Senior Project or Religious Educational requirements as well. Volunteers Needed For CHILD Goes Green ‘Recycling Helps Kids’

The C.H.I.L.D. Organization of Scotch Plains Fanwood helps to staff the Fanwood Recycling Center in return for a modest stipend. Volunteers are needed to help with this staffing for only a few of hours on that one day. The money is used to help kids in Scotch Plains, Fanwood through informational programs for them and educational programs for their parents along with a special recognition event for the children at the end of the school year.
Additionally, in cooperation with C.H.I.L.D., Pizza Brothers on East 2nd St in Scotch Plains, will allow Recycling Volunteers that help at, Recycling Helps Kids, at the Fanwood Recycling Center, to receive one special appreciation coupon for1 FREE Slice of Pizza - Valid thru February 2011.
Authorized coupons will be distributed at the end of each shift to registered volunteers.
►When: Saturday, January 29, 2011
►Where: Fanwood Recycling Center at North Avenue and Westfield Road, Fanwood
►Two shifts are available: 8:45-11:05 AM and/or 10:45 AM - 1:10 PM
What to bring/wear: wear old clothes, sturdy shoes and bring work gloves. Volunteers should dress weather appropriate, i.e. layers, hats, boots, gloves, foul weather gear ...as this facility will be open regardless of the weather
Letters of Recognition regarding Student Community Service for all volunteers will be provided. This includes HS Student Portfolios, any Senior Projects or Religious Education programs by participating in this program. Volunteers are Middle and High School Students and adults.
