Mayor Glover Shares His Christmas Wishes

"Let us remember to make room for everyone at our tables and share our good fortune with those in need," writes the mayor.

This letter to the editor was submitted by Scotch Plains Mayor Kevin Glover.

Residents:

With the Christmas holiday and the beginning of a new year almost upon us, I am sure many of you have the same thought I always seem to have around this time, "where did the year go?"  It is this thought that reminds us that, as time doesn't wait for anyone, we should remember the importance of enjoying each waking day. I am hopeful that each of you can reflect upon this past year with much happiness, gratitude and joy.

Christmas is a time for family and friends to come together to celebrate God’s gift to us.  Amid the beautiful decorations, delicious food, and gifts we exchange with each other, let us remember to make room for everyone at our tables and share our good fortune with those in need.  And on this holiday, as we should on every day, let us remember those in service to our nation at home and in distant lands. Let us pray for their safety and that they may be reunited with their families soon.

I feel fortunate and grateful to be part of this community, our township and this country.  I resolve that in the coming year I will endeavor to do my part in contributing to its well-being.
