Have You Been Duped Into Being A Sales Rebound Employer?

Sales leaders can be susceptible to being tricked by sales candidates. Learn how in this episode of the Sales Management Minute.

Ah, the dating days of yesteryear… Those wonderful days of courting…

While you may look back on those days fondly, you also recall the moments in time when you decided that the people you were dating weren’t the right ones for you. As kids, what commonly happened next was dating rebound. Rather than first making the decision to stop dating one person and then evaluating courting options, kids jumped from one relationship into another. Rarely, was the rebound relationship a long-lasting one.

This issue isn’t just child’s-play! When salespeople decide that they want to jump ship from their current employers, they are often on sales rebound. They aren’t necessarily looking for the best options for their skills and carefully evaluating the fit of new roles. They want any option other than the one they have.

Employers beware! Just like the one on the receiving end of dating rebound, you do not want to become a victim of sales rebound. These salespeople will join your company for the wrong reasons and not stay very long.

Beef up your candidate interviewing skills and make sure you can adeptly identify those excited about your sales role as opposed to the ones who just want to get out of the jobs they are in.
