Glenisha graduated from Scotch Plains Fanwood High School in June and is now a freshman at Delaware State University where she’s majoring in textiles and apparel studies choose scoliosis awareness as her pageant platform. Scoliosis is an abnormal curvature of the spine which Brown suffers from and had surgery to correct it in 2007. “Being diagnosed with scoliosis when I was 7 was scary and to have surgery when I was 12 was terrifying. Since scoliosis affects the body image it can cause emotional issues in children and teenagers. I began reading the stories of other young girls and how they were living successful fulfilling lives and that is what encouraged me to move forwarded and help boost the self-confidence of others with scoliosis.” Glenisha will also volunteer her services to support other numerous causes.

Glenisha looks forward to her year long reign as Miss Teen Northeast American Nation 2014. “I can do great things and help others,” she said.
