Something smells BAD!

Can anyone address the bad smell that has lingered over the neighborhoods surrounding the high school, across Westfield Avenue into the Henry, William Street area?  It started a week and a half ago and smells like something decomposing.  All those beautiful fall days...we had to keep our windows closed, particularly in the late afternoon/evening to keep the smell out of our house. I haven't seen anything in the Patch about this.  What's up?
