Blotter: FW Police Investigate Attempted Burglary

Police activity in the borough April 18-24.

A resident in the 60-block of Shady Lane in Fanwood reported being the victim of an attempted burglary, the reported in a press release. The resident stated that an unknown suspect or suspects removed several screws from his rear storm door. Entry was not gained to the house. The incident remains under investigation.

Wednesday, April 20:

  • Police arrested Shamila Torres, 24, of Colonia, for an outstanding warrant issued by the Woodbridge Court. At 12:28 a.m., officers stopped Torres at Martine Avenue and Poplar Place for a motor vehicle violation and discovered the warrant. They transported her to police headquarters, where she was processed and released.

Thursday, April 21:

  • Police arrested Michael Mayers, 21, of Plainfield, for an outstanding warrant issued by the Elizabeth court. At 11:43 a.m., officers stopped Mayers at East Seventh Street and Terrill Road for a motor vehicle violation and discovered the warrant. They transported him to police headquarters, where he was processed and turned over to the Elizabeth Police Department.

Friday, April 22:

  • Police arrested Darrien Lewter, 32, of North Plainfield, for outstanding warrants issued by the Plainfield, Bound Brook and North Plainfield courts. At 2:27 p.m., officers stopped Lewter at South Avenue and Second Street for a motor vehicle violation and discovered the warrants. They transported him to police headquarters, where he was processed and turned over to the Plainfield Police Department.
