Blotter: Police Arrest SP Man for Disorderly Conduct

The following arrest information was supplied by the Scotch Plains Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The arrested Alex Pardon, 23, of Seneca Road in Scotch Plains, for disorderly conduct Saturday, May 21. In the early-morning hours, officers responded to Jerusalem Road on a report of an individual screaming in the middle of the street at his girlfriend, and there encountered Pardon, according to a press release distributed by the department. When the officers attempted to calm Pardon down, he became angry and belligerent, the press release stated. The officers placed him under arrest and transported him to police headquarters, where he was processed and released.

Business Reports Theft of Lawnmower
The employee of a business on Raritan Road report being a victim of burglary Wednesday, May 18. He stated that sometime over the last several days, an unknown suspect or suspects entered the shed, which is located in the back of the property, and removed a lawnmower. The lawnmower was valued at about $250. Entrance was gained by removing the lock from the shed.

Resident Reports Vehicle Burglary
A resident of Algonquin Drive reported being a victim of burglary. He stated that sometime overnight, an unknown suspect or suspects entered his vehicle, which was unlocked and parked in his driveway. Once inside, the suspect or suspects removed baseball equipment. The Scotch Plains Police Department reminds all residents to lock their vehicles when parked. 

Resident Reports Harassment
A resident of Round Hill Road reported being a victim of harassment Friday, May 20. She stated that she has received several messages from an ex-business partner that contained obscenities and other derogatory comments.

Officers Make Marijuana Arrest
Police arrested Kenneth Thorze, 27, of East Stroudsburg, Pa., for possession of marijuana Sunday, May 22. Officers stopped Thorze for a motor vehicle violation on East Second Street and, while speaking with him, observed a quantity of marijuana. They placed him under arrest and transported him to police headquarters, where he was processed and released.

Police Make Warrant Arrests
Police arrested Steve Castana, 24, of Dover, on Friday, May 20, for a $458 outstanding warrant issued by the North Plainfield court. Officers stopped Castana for a motor vehicle violation on Route 22 and discovered the warrant. They transported him to police headquarters, where he was processed and released.

Police also arrested Joan Donovan, 29, of Westfield Avenue in Scotch Plains, for a $95 outstanding warrant issued by the Newark court. Officers stopped Donovan for a motor vehicle violation on Park Avenue and discovered the warrant. They transported her to police headquarters, where she was processed and released.
