(Last updated 11:19 p.m.) Police communications report that most of the fire at a home on the south side of Scotch Plains has been contained. Firefighters are still battling some hot spots, though, and as of 10:30 p.m., police still had the road blocked off with road flares.
The fire, located at a large two-story house on Jenna Court near Rahway Road, started earlier this evening in the attached garage. It soon reached the interior, and at some points was showing through four windows of the home.
