Brief: FW Police Investigate Home Burglary

Jewelry and laptops are missing from a Fifth Street residence, police say.

A resident of Fifth Street in Fanwood reported being a victim of burglary Friday, Police Chief Richard Trigo reported in an email alert. Between 8:15 a.m. and 2 p.m., an unknown suspect or suspects forced open the rear door of the resident's house to gain entry. Once inside, the suspect or suspects went through various rooms of the house and removed jewelry and laptops.

Officers who responded to the scene were able to lift fingerprints and possible DNA evidence, Trigo stated.

Anyone with information about the reported crime is asked to call Detective Eugene Chin at 908-322-5000, ext. 119. Residents who see or hear anything out of the ordinary are also urged to contact the .
