Celebrate St. Paddy's Day and Help the O'Brien Family Rebuild Their Home

St. Bartholomew Church in Scotch Plains will host a fundraiser on Saturday to help raise money for the O'Brien family who lost their home in a devastating house fire.

On February 9, the O’Brien family in a devastating house fire. In the days and weeks following the fire, the family witnessed an outpouring of . However, more helps is still needed.

This Saturday, friends, family and members of the community are invited to come together at in Scotch Plains to raise money to help the O’Briens rebuild their home.

“In light of this tragic event, the fundraiser is meant to be a fun event - an Irish good time to celebrate the joys of life,” Thomas O’Brien, Sr. said.  “It will be held between 7 and 11:00 p.m. with live music provided by The Broadcasters.  Refreshments include beer, wine and soda along with pizza, sub sandwiches.”

 In addition to entertainment and refreshments, the fundraiser will also feature several raffles. Here are some of the prizes participants can win:

  • Weekend stay at the Jersey Shore (Seaside Park)
  • Week stay in Long Beach Island
  • Week stay in Wilmington, Vermont (house accommodates 22)
  • Day of Beauty with hair care products from Salon Bella in Westfield
  • Hotel Room at the Borgata in Atlantic City
  • Two Luxury tickets to a NJ Devils game
  • Three tickets to a Giants game
  • Yankees tickets
  • Three personal training sessions at your house with a certified trainer
  • A large flat screen TV

Price of admission is $25.00 per person.  Tickets may be purchased at the home of Nick and Colleen Nitti, 39 St. John’s Place, Fanwood (201-615-0880), or at the home of James & Kim Slifer, 1964 Mary Ellen Lane, Scotch Plains, (908 654-1760). You can also purchase tickets from Darraugh Valli at the office of Family Investors, located at 265 South Avenue, Fanwood, NJ 07023.
