Fanwood Blotter: Arrests Made Between Dec. 19 and Jan. 18

December 19, 2012: At 12:41 p.m. an officer made a motor vehicle stop in the 300 block of Terrill Road for a motor vehicle violation. A check of the driver shows an active warrant out of South Plainfield. The driver was arrested, processed and turned over to South Plainfield P.D. The defendant is Lakia Bryant, a 27-year-old female from Piscataway. 

December 20, 2012: At 8:17 a.m. an officer made a motor vehicle stop at Sheelens Crossing and South Avenue for a motor vehicle violation. A check of the driver shows an active warrant out of Jersey City. The driver was arrested, processed, posted bail and released. The defendant is Marquis Givens, a 25-year-old male from Newark.

December 22, 2012: At 1:25 a.m. an officer made a motor vehicle stop at Terrill Road and Mary Lane for a motor vehicle violation. While the Officer was speaking with the driver he could detect a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the inside of the vehicle. The driver was asked to step out of the vehicle to perform field sobriety tests which he was unable to complete. The driver was arrested, processed, charged with D.W.I. and released to a responsible person. The defendant is Jonathan Ritchie, a 28-year-old male from Berkeley Heights. 

December 28, 2012: At 11:57 a.m. an officer made a motor vehicle stop in the 300 block of South Avenue for a motor vehicle violation. A check of the driver shows an active warrant out of Newark. The driver was arrested, processed and released by Newark Municipal Court. The defendant is Ashley Davis, a 21-year-old female from Elizabeth.

December 29, 2012: At 8:34 a.m. an officer made a motor vehicle stop at Terrill Road and Cottage was for a motor vehicle violation. A check of the driver shows an active warrant out of Roselle. The driver was arrested, processed and turned over to Roselle P.D. The defendant is Laverne Fassett, a 47-year-old male from Elizabeth. 

December 30, 2012: At 12:37 a.m. an officer made a motor vehicle stop at Terrill Road and East 7th Street for a motor vehicle violation. A check of the driver shows an active warrant out of West Orange. The driver was arrested, processed, posted bail and released. The Defendant is Majda Alphonso, a 31-year-old female from East Orange. 


December 31, 2012: At 1:41 a.m. officers arrested Richard Polhamus, a 19-year-old male from Scotch Plains for criminal mischief to a vehicle thatwas parked in the 160 block of Pleasant Avenue. Polhamuswas charged with criminal mischief, processed and released pending his court appearance.

January 7, 2013: At 8:16 a.m. an officer made a motor vehicle stop at Martine Avenue and Paterson Road for a motor vehicle violation. A check of the driver shows an active warrant out of Irvington. The driver was arrested, processed, posted bail and released. The defendant is a Jamil Powell, a 23-year-old male from Newark. 

January 14, 2013: At 4:15 p.m. an officer made a motor vehicle stop at East 7th Street and Terrill Road for a motor vehicle violation. A check of the driver shows an active warrant out of Glassboro. The driver was arrested, processed, posted bail and released. The defendant is Janine Clemente, a 25-year-old female from South Plainfield. 


January 18, 2013: At 2:43 a.m. an officer made a motor vehicle stop at Midway Avenue and Hunter Avenue for a motor vehicle violation. A check of the driver shows an active warrant out of Clifton. The driver was arrested, processed and released by Clifton Municipal Court. The defendant is Valerie Samuel, a 53-year-old female from Whitehouse Station.
