How is it your own fault if someone enters your home and steals your stuff? Do you lock down and hide everything in your home every time you go out? That's stealing, trespassing . . . Chances are the GPS units will not be found but it DOES NOT make it the owners fault!

I hope you never have anything stolen, secured or unsecured. You certainly won't get any sympathy from anyone. But I bet you would be the first one hounding the cops to do something about it. We have the right to expect our belongings will not taken regardless of their security.

Unlocked vehicle and something of value in plain view. Common sense would suggest that it needs to be secured. It's not your fault but you certainly aren't doing anything to help the situation either. Leave your keys in your car and it get's stolen? See what your insurance says to you. Same principal.

I guess you are saying that stupidity is a crime and thievery isn't. I really wouldn't like to live in your world. Are you related to Bernie Madoff, by any chance?
