Fanwood Blotter: DWI, Warrant Arrests and Theft

The following information was provided by the Fanwood Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.



D.W.I. Arrests


September 23, 2012:
At 1:02 a.m. an officer was following a vehicle east on South Avenue when he observed the vehicle weaving. The Officer made a motor vehicle stop and while speaking with the driver he could detect a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle. The driver was asked to exit the vehicle for field sobriety test which he was unable to perform. The driver was placed under arrest, processed, charged with D.W.I. ans released to a responsible person. The defendant is Manual Loarca, a 31-year-old male from Plainfield. 

September 25, 2012: At 9:29 p.m. an officer stopped a motor vehicle in the 60 block of South Avenue for a motor vehicle violation. While the Officer was speaking with the driver he could detect a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the inside of the vehicle. The driver was asked to exit the vehicle to perform some field sobriety test. The driver was unable to perform and he was placed under arrest, processed, charged with D.W.I. and released to a responsible person. The defendant is Fernando Lourenco, a 50-year-old male from North Plainfield.  


Warrant Arrest

September 24, 2012:
At 5:05 p.m. an officer made a motor vehicle stop in the 300 block of South Avenue for a motor vehicle violation. A check of the driver shows an active warrant out of Roselle. The driver was arrested, processed, posted bail and released. The defendant is Osniel Hernandez, a 29-year-old male from Elizabeth.


Theft 

Between September 26, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. and September 27, 2012: At 7:30 a.m. a business in the 70 block of South Avenue was Burglarized. The value taken was $ 100.00. 

Between September 28, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. and September 29, 2012 at 10:15 a.m.: A resident in the 20 block of Cray Terrace reported a burglary to her house. Jewelry and other items stolen valued at $ 5,000.00.
