Fanwood Blotter: Theft and Arrests

September 28, 2012: At 2:00 p.m. a business in the 200 block of South Ave. reported a theft of a wedding dress valued at $ 5,000.00. A description of the actor is a white female in her 30's to 40's in age and wearing a red or pink dress. 

October 1, 2012: At 7:30 p.m. officers responded to the 100 block of South Ave. for a person who was asking people for money. Upon the Officers arrival they located a person who fit the description. A check of this person shows an active warrant out of Plainfield. He was arrested, processeed and turned over to Plainfield P.D.Defendant is a Melvin Ross, a 42-year-old male from Newark. 

October 5, 2012: At 9:51 a.m. a resident in the 100 block of Martine Avenue came home to see a suspicious person in her driveway. When this person saw the homeowner he fled on a bicycle. The homeowner called the Police who checked the area for this person. The homeowner reported items are missing from her house. The suspect was located in Scotch Plains with the homeowners property in his possession. He was arrested and charged with burglary and theft. Bail was set at $15,000.00. The defendant is a 23-year-old male from Scotch Plains. 

October 6, 2012:  Between 1:49 p.m. and 1:59 p.m. a business in the 40 block of South Ave. reported a theft of car parts valued at $ 500.00.

October 7, 2012: At 10 p.m. an officer made a motor vehicle stop at Midway Avenue and Shasta Pass for a motor vehicle violation. A check of the driver shows an active warrnat out of South Plainfield. The driver was arrested, processed and turned over to South Plainfield P.D. Defendant is a 21-year-old male from Plainfield. 

October 9, 2012: At 9:41 a.m. an officer made a motor vehicle stop at E. 7th Street & Terrill Road for a motor vehicle violation. A check of the driver shows an active warrant out of Plainfield. The driver was arrested, processed, posted bail and released. Defendant is a 23-year-old female from Edison.
