Lock Your Cars, Fanwood Police Chief Warns Residents

Police probe series of thefts from unlocked vehicles.

Fanwood Police Chief Richard Trigo sent a written notice to residents in the northwest area of the borough this week, warning them to lock their cars after a recent series of thefts of items from vehicles in the area.

“All the entered vehicles were unlocked and movable property was removed from the vehicles," said the letter. "Residents are encouraged to lock their cars and contact the Fanwood Police Department immediately if they should observe any suspicious persons, vehicles or activity."
