Fanwood Driver Was Drunk, Crashed While Trying to Flee, Police Say

Police say an officer attempted to pull over Neil Keogh, 33, from Fanwood when he attempted to flee, but instead spun out and crashed.

Fanwood Police say an intoxicated driver attempted to flee an officer trying to stop him before spinning out and crashing. 

At 1:40 a.m. on Dec. 17, police say an officer attempted to pull over Neil Keogh, 33, from Fanwood when he attempted to flee, but instead spun out and crashed on the corner of North Avenue and Russell Road.

Police say the officer then spoke with the driver and he appeared to be intoxicated and could not complete a field sobriety exam.

Keogh was arrested, processed and charged with driving while intoxicated, speeding, careless driving, failure to stop at a stop sign, expired driver's license and uninsured. He was then transported to the Union County Corrections for an immigration warrant.
